KIPP: Jacksonville Schools

KIPP Impact Middle School

KIPP Impact Middle School is the highest performing middle school in the entire North and Westside of Jacksonville.  Our mission is to prepare our students with the knowledge, skills, habits and character to be successful in college and in life. KIPP Impact is a free public school and has an open-enrollment policy to any resident of Jacksonville.  Free bus transportation is provided across the North and Westside.

With our extended school day, we offer more time on core academic instruction in reading, math, science and social studies.  We also offer daily music and PE instruction for every student, as we believe this serves as a powerful complement to our academic program.  Some of the skills needed to be successful in college can be measured on a test – like math or science.  Many other habits and skills though cannot – like curiosity, self-control, gratitude and grit.  These are also critically important for a student to develop to be successful in college and in life!

Besides academics, KIPP Impact is also known for its excellent band program.  With our extended school day, every KIPP student spends one hour of every school day in music class – learning focus, discipline and teamwork while also practicing and mastering new skills on their instrument.  Our students have made musical remarkable progress over their time here.  Please view these “before” and “after” video clips below of our students from their first attempt at playing a musical note to present day.

The addition of a new gym on campus will further enhance our athletics and physical education offerings and open doors for additional after-school extracurricular opportunities. Many students participate in various forms of afterschool activities including basketball, lacrosse, cheerleading, step, and art classes.

According to the Florida Department of Education, over the past two years, students at KIPP Impact Middle School grew 26% more in reading and math per year than comparable Florida students.  This ranked as the #2 middle school in all of Jacksonville and the highest performing middle school in the entire North and Westside of our city.  Overall, KIPP Impact students are growing in reading and math at rates 25-35% higher than their neighborhood peers.

Across the KIPP network, over 80% of our alumni matriculate to colleges and universities, with college graduation rates four times higher than that of neighborhood peers.  It is our goal at KIPP Impact Middle School to meet or exceed these excellent results for our students.  KIPP supports its students across the entire climb towards a college degree and has formal partnerships with many leading universities across America.

We encourage you to complete an application for your student and hope you consider joining our team and family at KIPP Jacksonville Schools.
